We have a dedicated Quality Assurance team, which ensures we meet the high standards of both retailers and consumers alike. We are certified by BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards), which means that we have demonstrated that we comply with its standards for food safety in fresh produce. In addition, we recognise the following accreditations for our suppliers: Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF), Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA), and Red Tractor, among others.

Quality and consistency are important to us, so look out for the Mudwalls label, which features on all of our fresh produce. This label assures you that our growers and suppliers meet rigorous standards, guarantees that the product is high-quality, fresh and full of flavour, and also means you can trace the product back through the supply chain to where it came from.

We work with all of our growers and suppliers – new and old – to make sure that they are accredited to our same high standards. And in addition, we complete our own audits to guarantee that all of our suppliers are following strict food hygiene and safety requirements.

Our Technical team makes regular visits to our suppliers to undertake risk assessments and ultimately ensure they are working to the same high standards set by us and industry accreditations.

Developing these great, collaborative partnerships with some of the finest growers and producers from Great Britain, as well as further afield, helps us create a scalable and evolving produce portfolio.

Raising and then maintaining standards of quality is at the forefront of everything we do, so we have established our own dedicated Quality Assurance team.

The team is qualified to work to BRC Global Standards, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), which demonstrates our commitment to food hygiene, along with producing and trading in safe food.

Our team boasts many years of experience in the food sector, bringing exceptional fresh produce knowledge and altogether an excellent eye for detail. And it is working to these high standards that guarantees that our produce only leaves the packhouse when it is completely fresh, full of flavour and consistently high-quality.


Our thorough and rigorous inspections – all the way from picking to packing and distribution – underpins the high-quality standards that we are so proud of. This diligence also guarantees that our products arrive fresh from field to fork. Our inspections process follows three key steps:

After produce is picked and enters the packhouse, we complete a series of checks to ensure that it all adheres to Mudwalls’ raw material specifications – including visual, firmness, texture, colour, size and taste checks.

Positive release


Once it has passed these strict checks, the produce is then sent to the production line, which includes close visual inspections, along with weight, packaging, and label checks.
